Sometimes opting for a healthy option can be quite misleading. Most snack bar and granolas that we find at the super market can be labeled as "healthy", "natural" or "organic", but in reality, they all contain a lot of ingredients and chemicals our bodies don't need. So, why not make it yourself? Heres my recipe for making some homemade healthy granola.





Ingredients:
   1/4 cup of Oil (coconut, olive, canola, or sunflower)
   ⌘ 1/4 cup of Agave or Maple Syrup
   ⌘ Pinch of Salt
   ⌘ 3 cups of Oats (rolled or instant)
   ⌘ Any nut, dried fruits, and/or seed
   ⌘ OPTIONAL boost: Ginger, cinnamon, chocolate (you name it)

Directions:
   ⌘ After mixing all the ingredients, apply some oil to a small to medium size pan.
  
⌘ Spread the mix evenly in the pan.
   ⌘ Bake in a preheated oven at 375° F for 10 minutes. 
   ⌘ After baking, you can add more spices and nuts, seeds, or fruits of your choice.

And enjoy! This batch can last you up to two weeks depending on how and where you store it.

HEALING TEA - FOR SORE THROATS, COUGH, COLD & FLU




It's pretty rare for me to get sick so easily, but this past weekend most of my household and I got pretty sick with sore throats.  Since I really refuse the idea of taking meds, I always look for a natural home remedy.  So I went online, looked up the benefits of some ingredients from my kitchen and started to taste the results.


What you need:
» Lemon Tea – 1 bag
  » Agave – 1 spoonful
  » Freshly ground pepper – just a pinch

Extras: Essential oils (2 drops each)
» Rosemary
  » Lemon
  » Peppermint
  » Eucalyptus

Instructions:

Boil as much or as little water you want to use and place the tea bag in it, let it sit for 5 min, covered.  Afterwards add the ground pepper, the agave, and the essential oils.  Stir it up and you’re done! (Best to drink twice a day)

Benefits of each ingredient:
» Black pepper – Helps clear congestion.
» Lemon Tea – Removes toxins, boosts the body’s immune system and cures throat infections.
» Agave – Mostly used as sweetener, fights bacteria.
» Rosemary Essential Oil – relieves respiratory disorders including sinus infections, asthma, a whooping cough, and bronchitis.
» Lemon Essential Oil – treat throat infections effectively.
» Peppermint Essential Oil – is an effective treatment for dry coughs.
» Eucalyptus – loosens any mucus in the lungs and reduces inflammation in the respiratory system.

D.I.Y FACE MASK



Having great skin doesn't have to be expensive when you have all that you need at home. Here is an easy face masks that works for every skin type.

What you need:

   - Dry Oatmeal
   - Lemon
   - Agua Maravilla (Water Wonder)
   - A Small Bowl
   - Spoon

Have the oatmeal at a bowl and add the wonder water in little portions, stir until the oatmeal is wet but not in a liquid form. Then add only three drops of lemon juice and stir (by adding too much of the lemon juice, by it been acid, it can damage your skin.) Apply the paste to your face, do not apply it to the eyes, wear it for a few minutes until the paste is dried and later wash your face of with cold water.


Benefits:
   - It heals as a remedy for treating acne.
   - It moisturize your skin and leaves it smooth
   - Soothes dry and irritated skin
   - Reduces pore size

   - Reduces oil from the skin
